It's rare to find a bench this tall and wide, which can be converted into an elongated coffee table. This beautiful, sturdy bench is magical! MY DECORATING APPLICATION I purchased a wood daybed for a twin XL mattress, to create a super comfy sofa in the living room. This bench formed an ideal partner because it was so long and wide. THE QUALITY: The wood is exceptionally heavy, substantial, smooth and beautiful in its weathering. The carving is stunning. While I was worried about the round black screw showing in the corner on online photos, in person it actually adds rustic charm to the piece. ASSEMBLY The four legs came wrapped carefully. Some of the screws came loose, so I had to hunt for them in the box. I did find them all after rummaging through the protective paperwork. Installation itself is a breeze. The table actually came with a dedicated wrench in a lovely, zippered red pouch. You use two screws to attach each leg, then tighten with the wrench. Very easy. LIFTING I'm a 52 year old woman and after installing the bench upside down, I had no trouble overturning it right side up. I did first stick felt protection on the legs before setting the bench/coffee table on my new wood floor. ARE 4 LEGS ENGOUH? Because the wood top is so solid, the four legs offer sufficient support. In addition, there are cross bars running under the table to offer added support to the top slab. I'm sure this table will outlive me. DECORATING STYLE I would recommend this table to various decorating styles: Modern Eclectic, Rustic, Italian or Tuscan Country, Indian or Thai. VALUE Typically a table bench of this kind costs 3 times as much online. I was astonished to find it on Overstock and, seeing that it was the last one in stock, I just bought it immediately! I'm very happy with this table! It's exactly what I needed.
Ordered this elegant handcrafted bench for dining room window but ended up placing in the family room to enjoy the fireplace. It adds so much character to our space. Extremely well built and looks exactly like the image displayed on website. I might have to buy another one for the dining room now:)
